Richard Sobol's twenty five year career as a photojournalist has crisscrossed
over three distinct sectors. His wildlife and political photographs have appeared
in National Geographic, Time, Newsweek, Life, People, Outside, Fortune, Audubon
and Wildlife Conservation. In addition he is the author of five books for
young adults dealing with wildlife conservation and American Politics. For
two decades he has photographed the political campaigns and news events that
have shaped our world. He has spent much of the last decade concentrating
on wildlife and exposing illegal trade in endangered species. From his unique
position he captured the best and worst in the worlds of wildlife and conservation.
Early in 2000, along the wildlife trail in Africa he learned of isolated groups
of practicing Jews and began a documentation project on The Abayudaya of Uganda
and three other native Jewish communities. These photos will be updated throughout
the year on Wildfoto.com.
